Reading up on psychological development in childhood and I really want to take care of someone emotionally and help them be/become secure people in themselves, help them work through their wounds and traumas and towards their strengths.

Where are all my face to face people!

One More Try

'Cause teacher
There are things that I don't want to learn
And the last one I had
Made me cry
So I don't want to learn to
Hold you, touch you
Think that you're mine
Because it ain't no joy
For an uptown boy
Whose teacher has told him goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

This is beautiful. Whenever I read this, I imagine a child.
“Before I die, I want to be somebody’s favorite hiding place, the place they can put everything they know they need to survive, every secret, every solitude, every nervous prayer, and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe.”

To bring about a change:

Affection and validation combined with well-defined boundaries, discussion of various path options, and goals, plus warm accountability, expectation of emotional honesty. Honest sandwich critique method, exploration of reasons for lack of follow-through and other barriers. Affection, accountability, honesty to help act.

you don't get me

Don't share your intentions and your feelings with the people you care about. Expect them to 'know' you, for years on end. Then find yourself wondering why your loved ones don't get you.

Right, I forgot. Sharing emotions is a sign of weakness.
